Photos or music w/out Tivo Desktop

Does anyone know if it's possible to stream music or display photos on an S3 with content that's on a NAS drive? I would like to be able to access this stuff from my Tivo without having to have my computer on, and therefore without running Tivo Desktop.

Nope, as far as I know the "beacon" service or whatever it's called has to run on the computer (TiVo desktop however is not required). It would be nice if there was a way around that.
