The 6/14 episode of rocketboom appears to have a toxic affect on my S3. Every time I watch it, the whole Tivo freezes at the same exact point in the program (on the commemorative plaque at oklahoma city). I am wondering if anyone else has had this exact problem.

My fear is that the hard drive is going bad, so anyone who can tell me they have the same problem with this program will make me happy :)

Based on my theory that the HD is bad, I think I'm going to leave the rocketboom sitting on there, thereby "reserving" the bad section of the drive.

Once I get a chance, I'll pull out the drive and run some tests on it via my Linux PC (check the SMART info, run badblocks on it, etc.).

Hopefully it will survive long enough to allow me to watch the Spring season finales I still have.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Are you getting any stalling or freezes with any other programs?
Have you tried a reboot?

No other programs have triggered a freeze as of yet.

When the freeze happens, I have to pull the plug and reboot in order to get the tivo working again, so I've rebooted it twice so far today.

Those are pretty much the symptoms I had in my old S2 when the HDD went bad. My further test was to delete that show and try recording something else there, and the symptoms on the new show were similar.

The biggest problem you may run into are further bad blocks. I'd get watching on those season finales ASAP. :)
