HR10 without satellite connection

Can the HR10 be used without a satellite connection?
2 ways:
For recording and playback of OTA channels?
For playback of shows stored on the harddrive?

I'll assume you also mean that it won't be subscribed.

A DVR subscription is needed to be able to record OTA.

You can watch previous recordings without a subscription.

If the HR10 has a subscription but isn't connected to the sats, then you can (I think) record OTA.

Yes, I'm thinking of an HR10 without subscription and sat connection.
I'm going to move to the H20 soon and was wanting to know what
functionality would be left with my HR10 after it leaves D*

When I have to get the HR20, I plan to keep my HR10 subscribed for use with SD and OTA HD.
