is there any way to store hidef programs from the tivo unit to a PC and then be able to bring it back to the tivo for viewing at a later date.

The HR10 will need to be hacked to enable the USB ports and for transfer of shows to/from a PC. Check the underground and Home Media Features forums for info. Personally, I'd just burn the show in 480i to a DVD for later viewing. I'm not up on the HR10 hacks.

alas that is video extraction and not an allowed topic on this forum. Google around for some deal of a palce tha tcan give you the final pieces, if possible on a HR10 - not sure it is or not

I don't think anyone has complained about video extraction talk on this forum for a couple of years...

Huh? Good browsers have spell-checkers built-in.

You can mention video extraction in generalities.
Just don't start explaining how in detail. :)

Well I had quoted you but I was really just letting the OP know they would have to look outside TCF for the details needed to actually do it. What you posted was fine by me :)

The same extraction hacks that work on the other S2 units work on the HR10. You can google on either of the following to get info on how to do it: (mfsftp/tytool)

Google mfs_ftp with regards to tmf format. ;)
