I want to get my dad a TiVo for Father's Day. I currently have one TiVo on product lifetime. I would like to get the multi-service discount, but I guess the new TiVo has to be at the same address as my TiVo, and it isn't.

The following is from the TiVo website:

2. TiVo Service Gift Subscription. TiVo service or TiVo Plus service Gift Subscriptions will be applicable to TiVo service or TiVo Plus service subscriptions eligible for the MULTI-SERVICE DISCOUNT. The registered account holder’s credit card used to pay for the TiVo service or TiVo Plus service subscription qualifying for the MULTI-SERVICE DISCOUNT will not be charged until after the gift subscription’s balance is exhausted.

This confuses me. Does anyone know if my gift subscription to my TiVo-less dad is discounted or full price? Maybe if someone gave ME a gift subscription, that is eligible for the discount since I have a TiVo. That gives me an idea. My brother lives with my dad, and my brother has two TiVos. So I give my brother the gift subscription at the reduced rate, but I put the TiVo on Dad's TV.

yes, just have the TiVo end up on your brother's account for MSD and then also things like MRV/TTG and remote scheduling will work from his account for all TiVo DVRs in that house
