View Full Version : What (wired) USB-ethernet adapter to buy?

I thought I had determined the D-Link DUB-E100 as the best (2.0) USB-ethernet adapter -- that still in production -- for the HR10-250, but then I find this:

Anyone recently tried a recently purchased DUB-E100 with a HR10-250 (running 6.3x software)? Or is anyone using a TRENDnet TU2-ET100 adapter?

You still need to hack the HR10 to get the USB ports enabled.

Hacking the HR10 would be a great place to start as Jim has said. The USB ports are disabled, so no USB to Ethernet adapter is going to work until this is done.

For a novice is it hard to enable the usb port?

Thank you,

Do a search for "Zipper".
Here's one thread that gives a little insight.

Also, check the underground forum.

Yes I am aware I need to hack but was just wondering what wired USB Network Adapters worked best with the HR10-250. Since starting this post, I've done some more research and am about to purchase aTrendNet TU2-ET100.

Perhaps stating the obvious. The Netgear FA120 is the best for your purposes. While they are out of production, you can usually find them on ebay

poppagene,
I did read that, but I wanted to buy new.

That was my initial reaction, too. But with all the drama behid finding the right version and not finding adapters likely to work, I eventually found a new in box adapter on ebay.
