I was getting worried Barb was going to drill herself into the side of the pool; they need a bigger pool if she's gonna swim like that again.

Anyone else see the blooper near the end of the show when Bill and Barb are talking through the door? On Barb's side the hinges are on her side of the door on the left. On Bill's side of the door, same thing. There was no way she was opening that door, even if she wanted to! :D

That was an excellent start to the new season. It's actually the first time that we've ever had friends over to watch a show. I hope the show does well in the new timeslot.

Eh, I thought it was just OK. I like the show and liked the episode, it just didn't "wow" me.

Anyone count how many times someone said they live in Sandy, Utah?

It also seemed like they emphasized when they said it too.

blah blah blah SANDY UTAH blah blah blah.

Maybe it's because I live in Sandy, Utah.

I do know of at least a couple polygamist families in Sandy, Utah, but none of them own a chain of home improvement stores, just a waffle house.

Here is my question. Polygamy is illegal. OK. But is being married and having two other girlfriends as part of your household illegal? I can understand from a tax/healtthcare standpoint it is not allowed but otherwise how can it be against the law?

I am guessing adultery is illegal in Utah as well.

The first time she said "Sandy Utah," I thought "Sandy" was an adjective. :o

They do a good job with it though because one of my friends is Mormon and most his family lives Salt Lake City. They do have some distant relatives that are "fundamentalists" but it is true as long as they keep their nose clean and don't stir up the areas they live in the law leaves them alone. Now being a major business owner like Bill is would definitely stir the pot.

Oh and anyone else see that lady at Bill's office flipping it on him and blackmailing him because she wants to be wife #4?

And in the last shot on Bill's side of the door I believe the hinges were gone.

Glad I'm not the only one.

She seems very "stalkerish" in her investigation of him and polygamy.

That is how the City got it's name.

Built on a sandbar left over from the old Lake Bonneville which used to cover the whole Salt Lake valley.

I'm so glad this show is back on - but I have to agree with cwoody222 - after a year off I was really anticipating greatness. I'll have to watch it again, I'm sure it was better than I originally thought.

I get the feeling that this season will not end with all 3 wives.

The recent EW piece on the show implied that he could add a fourth this season.

However, they cannot legitimately selectively enforce laws against adultery and too many officials commit adultery to allow routine investigation and prosecution for it. :)

That's what makes it more fun to do it in Utah.

I know this is not a place for a religious debate but off topic I find it funny that a lot of Mormons own Starbucks franchises.

don't they own a big part of Coca-Cola or Pepsi - I can't remember. I just recall a good friend of mine in High School was mormon and he couldn't drink anything with caffiene and yet were a major player in one of those two companies - and now Starbucks - that is funny. Can someone check to see if Al Gore owns any refineries?

I thought it was just ok, and I'm still trying to figure out what brings me back to this show. I also had a lot of trouble remembering what happened at the end of last season and the montage at the beginning of the show really didn't spell it out too well. Can anyone refresh my memory?

I thought the show was well paced and exactly the same as last season. Not sure why people think its very different.

Can we discuss the show specifics here - I didn't see "spoiler" in the headline so I refrained.

P.S. I also thought the montage at the beginning of the show did an excellent job of bringing us back up to date.

Placing "spoiler" in the title of a thread titled with a show and episode number/name and/or air date is redundant. By the forum rules spoilers for the identified episode and all prior episodes are implicit to such threads.

Thank you. In that case:

I was surprised by the High School age daughters rejection of the lifestyle, and her seeking groups outside the morman church to discuss it with. Up to now I had the impression she was supportive of the family.

Did this come out of the blue or have I not been paying sufficient attention?

It is illegal, but the last time they prosecuted was in 1953. Interesting news article that mentions how Big Love has softened some peoples opinions on Polygamy:

Remembering back to last season - the teenage girl seemed to be against polygamy but defended her family and thier actions to any one who questioned it.

After watching this ep again - I really enjoyed it. I like all the twists, confrontations and near confrontations that keep my stomache turning!

And.... Bill's sister-in-law trying to kill people off! and Bill's mom saying she is crazy on the phone while patting her on the arm - priceless!

It was a switch but don't think it came out of nowhere. They have been showing Sarah doing some questioning and trying to find her place in the world.

She had that friendship with the conservative Mormon girl from work with the cop father (who came to the house unannounced). In those scenes I got the sense that while she was trying to be supportive of the family it was really difficult for her to deal with the secrecy and lying. Just wanted to be a normal teenager, that sort of thing.

Also, there was a scene with her and Roman's very underage wife-girl at the house. It seemed like she used to be friends with Sarah before she had to go to Roman's compound. Sarah was asking questions about the compound lifestyle and the underage arranged marriage and (understandably) seemed to find that situation very distasteful.

It seemed to me like when Barb left it opened Sarah's eyes that there might be another way to live. I was surprized she took the risk of going to the support group like that, though.

Can someone remind me who did call in the "secret" to the Governor's wife. I seem to remember Roman ???

I believe they showed Roman doing it in the "previously on" clips. Then, in the main episode, he calls offering solidarity.

It was curious though that Sarah decided to join an ex-Mormon, but Christian support group and instead not just reach out to the original LDS church in the first place.

As I recall, it was the older brother who wanted to follow the plural marriage lifestyle and had discussed it with his Dad in the last season.

Speaking of the conservative Mormon girl, maybe we'll see Tina Majorino return this season, now that Veronica Mars is over.

Maybe she isn't interested in religion of any kind now. Or maybe she thinks it's less dangerous in terms of the persecution issue.

I definitely got the impression that she wanted "in" instead of wanting to "out" them.

Also to me it looked like ex-mormon supporter was more interested in dating Sarah than helping her break away.

First episode that I actually liked Nikki.

What was with the bridal registry book ? I didn't go back but it looked like they had pictures of the girls feet and stomach ?

Roman is really playing the idiot brother, isn't he?

That's what the First Lady's representative told Bill. As long as Bill doesn't traffic underage girls and commit welfare fraud, which are the two biggest offenses that the government are cracking down on Fundamentalists leaders, they won't out Bill.
