Sopranos Finale - GRADE IT

What do you think? Was it satisfactory??

I liked it. I am not one to believe that every story should have been cleared up. I like using my imagination a bit and interpret what actually happened to Tony.

I gave it a D. I'd have given it a C if they'd have left the never ending AJ scenes on the cutting room floor.

I put C ... basically because I was so BORED with the whole AJ story line, I guess. Sure, wanted more "action" for an ending, but - this is the only real ending, they could have done. Still leaving some things unanswered.

They promised for weeks - the sopranos is ending. You won't want to miss a single episode.

yeah, right away it was a D/F for me, but after thinking about it and all that, def brings the grade up

I'm the opposite. I gave it an F.

I didn't mind all the stuff leading up to the the end, but the end sucked. All that extraneous stuff is what the series has always been about. Cutting to black in the middle of a scene, however, is not an ending -- it's a cop out. Can anyone honestly say they didn't think their cable/satellite went out? I don't think that is the reaction you should have at the end of the series finale.

I graded it a 'C' just for this line:

They're funny like that. My aunt had a cat who would only sit at the exact corners of the table, staring out. Or, at the intersection of two walls, staring in.

Way too much AJ. Why invest all that time on a worthless character. He hardly affected Tony and his dealings, so why spend the whole season on his roller coaster ride of emotions?

If there had been more "action" during the first 55 minutes, then there wouldn't have been as much suspense built up as the ending approached. The fact that not much had happened raised our expectations that something major - a bloodbath or whatever - would happen. I'm not saying it was necessarily better that way, but the suspense building up from something as insignificant as Meadow having trouble parking her car was enormous. As for the very very very end, I dunno. I think maybe he just didn't want anyone to predict it correctly. That doesn't make any more sense of it, of course.

Almost gave it a D for Phil's gruesome scene.
But gave it an F based on the fact that it sucked on a previously unseen level...not even Cop Rocks sucked that much.

I must say I hated the episode, all except for the death of Phil.
How much did Ford pay to have him run over by one of their products?
And the ending, I swear I was ready to call DirecTV and complain that they
f-ed up the ending. What a letdown. Although, I guess it leaves it open to
interpretation and also the possibility of a movie(?) in the future. :confused: :confused:

i didn't like the ending. i don't mind that we were left hanging and left to contemplate what happened. What bothered me is that I assumed my signal was lost or the Tivo crapped out...immediately took me out of the moment.
