How do I install libosd files?

OK, this is probably a simple (dumb) question but I can't find it documented anywhere.

I have a series 1, Sony SVR2000, with TivoWeb 1.9.4

I am trying to use the jpegwriter module (http://www.cobb.uk.net/Tivo/Jpegwriter/) for TivoWeb.

Jpegwriter-1.2 states it requires libosd-1.2 or later. I found libosd-1.3 (http://www.cobb.uk.net/Tivo/Libosd/) and even jpegwriter-1.3 and libosd-1.4 on another thread (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=40501&highlight=jpegwriter1+3) but the readme files don't explain how to install the files.

How do I install libosd?
Where do I put the files?
Is anyone using libosd-1.4 or jpegwriter 1.3?

Slight clarification to my earlier post:
The "jpegwriter module" link is actual the link to the jpegwriter-1.2 executable, not the TivoWeb module.
The jpegwriter module is found in the same link (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=40501&highlight=jpegwriter1+3) as libosd-1.4 and jpegwriter 1.3

What I am basically trying to do is get the jpegwriter module to work with jpegwriter-1.3 and libosd-1.4. I need help with the libosd install.

Any and all suggestion are appreciated.
