I am using the Jenkins ISO and his step-by-step for my Series 1 Phillips 112 version 3.1 os software (Started in byteswap default mode) 250Gig Tivo drive with supported kernel

REWRITE:

I cannot get passed the mounting instructions.

mfsinfo /dev/hdc provides
4 active partitions - 13 total 4,7,9 inactive (how is this possible?)
10,11,12,13

no access to any of them. drive is not locked as the bios reads all 250Gigs in the specs.

Tivo Drive - Secondary Master -> /dev/hdc
CD - Secondary Slave -> /dev/hdd

Ran TurboNet driver installation hoping it could break this stupid setup but after a successful completion the tivo doesnt even recognize the TurboNet card either (no IP assigned when restarted - DHCP mode)

UPDATE NOTE - Success. My Tivo is now networked. For some unknown reason my solution was to boot off the TurboNet driver CD (DO NOT RUN DRIVER UPDATE - just use the bash) did a mfsinfo on the drive which loaded all partitions. Took out the TurboNet CD and inserted Jenkins CD and hit reset (soft boot). After that all the partitions behaved.

I am now the very happy owner of a Tivo + TWP + TyStream

I believe Jenkins ISO is based on a fairly old linux... if may be having trouble with your sata/pata issues, so you may want to try a newer one (like the one from mfslive.org)

I have attempted to use the mfslive version but I am starting to get frustrated.

The bootup info tells me that the tivo drive is on hda
the Cd is on hdc

I type
mkdir /mnt4
mkdir /mnt7
mkdir /mnt9
mount /dev/hdc4 /mnt4
FAILED
mount /dev/hdc7 /mnt7
FAILED
mount /dev/hdc9 /mnt9
FAILED

df

no dos, no cd, no hd, NOTHING

pdisk -l /dev/hdc
gives me all the partitions on the tivo drive. they are all there and i can't find anything wrong with them i just can't mount the partitions for editing

Please tell me why am I getting this? Is it just me? Why is it so difficult to access a drive with any of the tools outlined in the forum.

[B]NOTE: i just did a msfinfo on the hdc drive and ONLY partitions 10,11,12,13 are accessible. Am I missing something? Is this Locked?

How do you have the drives connected to your pc? Primary, slave, master, secondary....

Tivo drive - Secondary Master -> /dev/hdc
CDRom - Secondary Slave -> /dev/hdd

also Tivo drive is 250Gigs (it has the custom kernel installed - installed during upgrade process)
