View Full Version : Back from vacation: suddenly no audio?

I had gone on vacation and powered down my HR10-250 (including switching off the surge protector). I come back, turn everything back on and suddenly I have no audio coming from the Tivo. All of my other Tivos (which I did not power down) work fine.

I have never had any audio dropout problems in the past, and this is not a dropout. . . this is literally nothing. I have both analog and digital optical cables hooked up and get no sound from either. I checked the optical cable, and there is light, so the cable shouldn't be the problem.

The sound is fed through my receiver, and the audio on all other components (DVD player, CD player etc.) works fine.

I'm stumped, but I know there are a lot of people on this board that are far smarter than I.

Anybody have any thoughts on potential solutions??

Thanks in advance for your help!

Power supply is a possibility. New one fixed my audio problems although I had extensive dropouts (30-40 seconds every few minutes), not complete lack of audio.

Thanks for the relpy. Would seem strange that just powering the unit down and powering it back up would suddenly cause a power supply failure, but then again...something went wrong.

Any other possibilities? I haven't had it plugged into a Phone line for almost a year know so I am working off old software, but that wouldn't cause any problems would it?
