Does anybody else know about this show? I just found it online, and I love it. I can't believe something like that hasn't been discussed here, seems right up the alley of TC members.

It's Canadian, and very popular up here. Many events are billed, "Featuring Ricky and Bubbles from the Trailer Park Boys".

It's not really my taste, but my sister loves it. Kinda lowbrow I suppose.

Absolutely loved it, I mentioned it a long time ago on his board. It was on Sundance or one of the other more obscure channels.

See if you can ever spot Ricky without a rum and coke.

The shirtless security deputy is just plain bizarre.

its an amazing show and one of my favorites. it is one of the reasons i got canadian satellite so i could watch it live..that and the hockey coverage in canada.

i highly recommend getting the dvds from amazon.ca or even downloading the show if you want. seriously one of the funniest shows ever, but definitely not for everyone.

We love it. Another TCF member mentioned it in a thread, so I asked him for more information and checked it out.

See if you can ever spot Ricky without a rum and coke.

Julian carries the rum and coke in a rocks glass. Ricky is the one going on and on about growing dope.

One of the best comedies of all time. It ran on BBC America in the US, with the F bombs bleeped out. I think they've only showed the first 3 seasons (out of 7). 6 seasons are available on DVD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trailer_Park_Boys

I found it online on a YouTube clone, but the picture quality isn't the best. I don't think I can get it through Direct TV though. So far, my favorite character is Bubbles. :) It's like My Name is Earl, without the overt sweetness, and Reno 911, without the overt silliness.. :)

Is it entirely scripted, or do they do some improv?

I might just watch the entire series today. :)

Yay to the Canadians for making a very funny series.

I was going to mention Reno 911, but I thought it too might be Canadian (I know the name implies American).

As for Earl, yes it's very similar. I forgot to mention that one. I think TPB predates My Name is Earl. I'm surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit....

Reno 911 is shot in SoCal, with some shots of Nevada countryside. Why would you think it was Canadian? Are the actors Canadian?

I saw the first ep online and thought it was quite good. Just amazes my that the Canadian Government helps finance the show.

Whenever something is quirky, it seems Canadian. A lot of syndicated TV programming is jointly Canadian. Tarzan, Xena, and First Wave come to mind.

My sister and nephews LOVE that show. I've never seen it because, when my son and I are up there, they say it isn't appropriate for a kid to watch.

Canadian TV doesn't seem to have any limits regarding language. Heck, they even allow french. :D

Xena, Hercules, Cleopatra 2525 and Jack of All Trades was filmed in New Zealand, not Canada.

TPBs are definitely not role models.

Nope, I'm not letting my youngest watch. I definitely want my oldest to see it though. :D

Still if you watch the credits you'll see joint co-operation Canadian tax credits and the like. Tarzan was like Canadian/French/Mexican or something....

Back in febuary of 2004 when BBC America first announced that they would show it, I tried to spur a little interest (http://archive.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?threadid=154126&perpage=20&highlight=trailer%20park%20boys&pagenumber=2), but not many seemed to care.

You've gotten more responses and interest than I ever could!:o

Ya really need to check out Mike Clattenburg's first movie with Julian and Ricky (not the new one, the first one!):
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383678/

...and don't let anyone tell you what their "job" is before you see the movie!!!!

If you have any desire to see the movie DON'T READ THE COMMENTS AT IMDB!!!!

Best Show Ever!!!

I recently started watching this show and love it. I just saw the season finale and the ending gave me the impression that it was also the series finale.

I recently started watching this show and love it. I just saw the season finale and the ending gave me the impression that it was also the series finale.According to well placed rumors, there is a season 8:
http://www.trailerparkboys.info/thepark/index.php/topic,887.0.html

Attributed to David Clattenburg in an e-mail interview conducted with television reporter Tim Arsenault:
"We’re going into production this summer and most likely next summer. Lots more to come."

:)

from said interview:
Creator, head writer and director Mike Clattenburg says there are plenty more shady schemes that the lads from Sunnyvale can get up to.

This and other topics, including the appearance of the late Mamas and Papas singer Denny Doherty among the guest stars in the new shows, were addressed by a travelling Clattenburg in an e-mail interview conducted with television reporter Tim Arsenault.

Q. What are you doing in the Yukon?

A. I’m visiting an old friend I met deep in the woods here in Whitehorse near Lake Leberge many years ago.

An old grizzly bear.

I used to make homemade liquor here and sell it to the gold miners before I got into TV.

Anyway, I usually come visit that nice old bear every summer, but the other grizzlies in the area have no idea who I am and always want to fight me.

But the thing is with bears, they come at you all wild, swinging and biting, and they leave themselves wide open. It’s so easy to knock them out.

You fake them with a left then a hard right cross; they fall for it every time.

But it’s a hassle, to say the least, so I decided to come just before they come out of hibernation.

Yesterday I went out to see the grizzly and found him fast asleep in the same old den.

He’s lost a bit of weight; he’s down to about 1,100 pounds now. I poked him with a stick; he woke up and immediately recognized me.

It sounds like I’m making this up, but he did give me a long sincere bear hug.

I always bring him one of those jumbo-sized Kraft peanut butter deals you see at the Atlantic Superstore in the jumbo section.

Anyway, he ate half of it right away then took me down to the lake where he had stashed a huge pile of Arctic char.

He gave me two good-sized ones. They’d been there for a while, so I just took a small bite and nodded like I really liked it.

I gave him a good scratching under the neck and then I walked back to the Gold Rush Inn.

I threw the char in the garbage out front. But while I’m here I think I’ll go to the Dawson City film festival and check that out.Ya gotta love this guy!

I thought the series was over myself, so I went and checked my fav site and saw that they are done with season 7, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

Can't wait to watch it.

I found this show about three months ago and started watching it from the begining. Yesterday I started watching season seven.
My favorite characters are the cars, especially Julian's grandmother's car (now Ricky's) and the trailer park supervisor's car, they just keep going and going and going. And Julian always manages to get a sweet ride, though I'm not too impressed by the Monte Carlo.

I don't know if this show still exists. The most recent info on their web site is the April 2007 season premiere.

TPB made fun of American drug laws. I think the show would get boycotted if anyone down here would dare to show it.

I caught this show when they aired it on BBC America in 2004. I got hooked, and now own every available DVD, and have seen every aired episode...

I love when Ricky screws up euphemisms... like "Get two birds stoned at once" instead of "Kill two birds with one stone"

And I always pronounce Jalapeno with a J now...
