bwahahahahahahahahaha @ ending!

omg, I nearly feel off the bed! I felt it was a throw away show until the end. That made the entire episode worth it.

the entire episode was worth it after the shot of Sam in that dress...super skinny women are a big turnoff for me. Sam looked perfect ;)

The beginning and the end were the best.

I can't believe there are only 2 more left.

"The Virginia Dialogues" - excellent!

Also liked the two (that I saw) references to SG-1's cancellation:
1) the conversation at the beginning "It's been cancelled?, I didn't even know the new season had started" or some such
and
2) the conversation between Sam and Vala's father about the lack of proper equipment at Stargate Command: "You'd think that with all you've done for this network... of planets, they'd treat you better."

Liked the episode, saw the double cross at the end, didn't see the double-double cross, think there is something truly valuable in the box of trinkets Vala has, and he was trying to get that too.

Totally agree, Sam has gotten better over the years.

Great episode. I liked the jabs at the Sci-Fi network. And I didn't think they were going to pay off "The Virginia Dialoges" later. OMG! That was great! Damn, the writers are getting all the good stuff out at the end here.

I wasn't excited about this episode, I can't believe there are only 2 episodes left and this is what we're getting a 3rd from the end!

Although, seeing Vala try to roll Teal'c over was a little funny though!

I'm surprised she still has that, after everything she's been through.

Something else that occurred to me... how long was Vala a Goa'uld host? It can't have been long, or her father would've been older/dead. (Hmm... just looked her up on Wikipedia, and they have a different argument leading to the same conclusion. But don't read that -- it's got big untagged spoilers for the next two eps.)

Jacek was certainly quick to pick up on the local variety of cons.

Anyway, I thought it was a pretty throwaway ep.

I liked the episode because I knew it would be a "throw-away" episode. All of the characters are getting some form of closure, even Landry. However, it still bugs me that several episodes ago the Ori sent a new wave of soldiers and acolytes through the supergate, and this episode advanced the time line by three weeks and there's still no mention of the Ori. We have time for shopping, and dinners, and surfing the internet, but ... isn't there a war "out there" and shouldn't SG-1 be trying to prevent it from coming to Earth? A simple mention of it would have worked for me to at least establish that these last several episodes all exist in the same reality.

Really, couldn't Vala have at least mentioned to Jacek that she has a daughter and named her after his second wife? That would have been a nice continuity gesture in keeping with the theme.

This is public knowedge, not from the spoiler sites....

There are 2 Stargate, direct to DVD, movies coming out. One is finished filiming and the other is finished or almost finished. Stands to reason at least some of the plot lines will be resolved in one of the movies.

I also assume that we are getting these very CGI/FX lacking episodes because of those items in spoilers above. All the budget is going to that. And Eureka.

I'm disappointed that they didn't let Fred Willard be Fred Willard. He's a great at improv and it's like they told him to stick to the script too much.

Last few years we seem to get more and more episodes without CGI/FX. I'm glad the show is gone. ScFi wasn't giving the show the budget to do it right. They don't even seem to be showing the gate in operation as much. I wonder if they have to pay some kind of royalty to an outside CGI outfit every time it's shown.

I don't disagree. I was reacting to the slightly bulging stomach showing in the opening scene, which women shaped like Amanda Tapping don't get unless they're pregnant.

With all of the jabs at Sci-Fi within this ep., I even think that the title was commentary on the producers inability to take the show elsewhere, by it being "Tied" to a member of the NBCUniversal "Family"

was anyone else's sound messed up at the end, after the last commercial break? I had a wierd lag of about 5 seconds. Was fine on Atlantis, tho

Murray at the Virginia Dialogues was pretty funny, tho :P

Actually, I thought Fred Willard was pretty good in this. Sure, it was no "Best in Show" but I thought it was quite enjoyable to see him in this...

...even though the whole thing was pretty absurd!!

I will continue to say that Lexa Doig is one of the best looking females on television! Nice to see her mother finally too! (Although "finally" is a bit of stretch since Dr. Lam's character was not exactly used a lot). Browsing IMDB I didn't realize that she and Michael Shanks had tied the knot. Now THAT is a couple!

I *totally* did not notice the jabs at the Sci-Fi network. Thanks for pointing them out!

Yes, I had an audio sync issue, which started very close to the end with Vala and Sam in Vala's room at the SGC. You could even hear where the glitch started because they redubbed one of Vala's lines, and the audio sync was off for the rest of the show. It was where she said, "He scammed us, but we scammed him better," or something like that. By the second showing Friday night, they had fixed the problem.

To me, I was reminded of all the bad sketches he does on Leno.
