Tivo Series 2 home network work with no sub?

Hi all,

I love my Tivo. It's the best home appliance since refrigeration. But I'm saving for a Jeep, and though about canceling my cable TV, and hence Tivo sub as well.

Would my Tivo still work on my network? That is, would I still be able to play my .mp3s on my Tivo?

Nope ... you need a subscription for the box to do anything.

Is there a sticky on this topic? There needs to be with the subject "SERIES 2 FEATURES WITHOUT A SUBSCRIPTION"

And then the first message should read, paperwight, boat anchor, door stop... oh and it can play back whatever is on the hard drive previously recorded before the sub was removed.
