View Full Version : Anyone upgraded to 500GB Maxtor drive?

Anyone here replaced their OEM hard drive in their HR10-250 with a 500GB Maxtor L01Y500 (or L01R500) Ultra DMA/100 16MB buffer drive? If so, have you been happy with the drive, and how long ago did you do the swap?

Not exactly the model you mentioned, but I did upgrade with a Maxtor 6H500R0 (DiamondMax 11) last October. I set it to its quietest seek noise setting and have had no problems at all. I briefly had a regular Seagate 500GB drive in the TiVo, but the seek noise was unacceptable. We love the Maxtor.
