I have an R10 that mysteriously got stuck in a service update in early March. With no luck working with DTV to fix it I am now at the point of trying to reimage it. Where can I find an image to try. Or does anyone have another idea?
Thanks

InstantCake is an excellent and simple option in this case.
(Its a shame you didn't post this a week ago, I just sold a factory drive from an R10 I would have offered to you.)

if I was sure it would fix my problem I would think it would be worht the $20, but since DTV tech Support tells me it is probably the ROM Chip, I am hesitant to throw away the money.

Did them telling you that "it is probobly the ROM chip" follow with "but you can get one of our DVRs"...?
The problem is your HD.

Well I have gotten MFSLive and can see the partitions on my drive so it looks like the Drive is healthy. Just wish I knew how to get it out of this Service update.

That doesn't really mean anything. Trust us, it's the hard drive. :)

I finally broke down and payed the $20, I hoipe it works because that site is not too friendly when it comes to supporting a product they charge for. It took me hours to find out that IntantCake does not support USB keyboards and I had to scrounge up a PS2 keboard to get it to start working. Now I will test it to see if it helped.

InstantCake will not help you unless you use it to replace your drive. If you run IC on the existing drive you will continue to have problems if the drive has a physical fault.
The site also clearly states that they do not provide support for the software products they offer.
