As a technically inept person who could manage to change a hard drive or put memory in a PC, if I were to upgrade to a larger drive and add TiVo to my wireless home network could I:

1. Put in the network card then copy the TiVo HD to my PC over the network, then

2 put the new HD in and copy the old HD contents to it, or is it not that easy?

It's not that easy - but worry not! If you've upgraded a hard drive on a PC, you'll be able to do a TiVo upgrade. Have a look at Steve Conrad's Guide (http://www.steveconrad.co.uk/tivo/upgrade3.html) which includes handy pictures.

I'm afraid it's not quite that easy :o

However, if you are comfortable changing drives in a PC then you shoud be able to do a DIY upgrade. Have a look at Steve Conrad's howto (http://www.steveconrad.co.uk/tivo/upgrade3.html) for an idea of what's involved.

Edit: Snap! Clearly, great minds really do think alike! :)

Oh - depending on your current configuration you may or may not be able to bring your recordings, etc across. The Steve Conrad instructions lose all your recordings.

There are methods to transfer the recordings; a search should turn them up - look for 'mfslive' for example.
