I called DTV yesterday to ask about the status of my submission to get the $5 monthly credit for having DSL and DirecTv
While "researching" the matter, the stupid CSR evidently did "something" to my account... because I discovered (when the program was almost over) that the DVR service had been DE-activated on my entire account (all 4 DTivo boxes in the house) with a message that I had to Activate the service
I of course called right away (too late to save the program that was supposed to record) and yet another CSR had "no idea" how my DVR service had been DE-activated, but after a few minutes she was able to verify that I did have a paid service that they had "somehow" turned off, and she had it turned back ON so DTivo would work
Bottom line is that I now know to check EVERYTHING if I ever again call DTV and have a CSR even LOOK at my account

Bottom line is that I now know to check EVERYTHING if I ever again call DTV and have a CSR even LOOK at my account OH YEH!! Especialy when they say they are going to waive fees. But sometimes you dont find out untill the next bill that the fee was in fact not waived and the CSR never put any notes in the record to say they waived the fee. Case in point. I ordered a new access card and a new reciever(Had An old reciever with no card) The CSR In the access card dept said she would waive the acess card fee all i need pay for was the new reciever. Sure enough on the latest bill was 20.00 for access card. I call and the CSR I speak to says there were no notes and they always charge for access cards. Transfer me to the account cancellation dept please. Hello This is retention( They dont say retention of course but you know where you are :) ) Tell my brief story 2 minutes later credit appears on account for 20.00 + Tax !! :)
I truly hate to play the cancellation game as some have done to get freebies but when it comes to getting charged for something i was told i would not be, I draw the Line.

LMFAO.
The last call I made to Directv I was told my Harmony Remote would not operate a R15.
SO:
I told them to come and remove the piece of junk from my house.
Eventually the Receiver worked!!! :D

while we're ranting....i called to put my acct. into suspension in april and asked what the balance would be so i could pay it...she gave me the amount and i sent a check.
a day after my service was supposed to end, it was still on, so i called, and was told it's nothing- sometimes it will be the next day before service is ended, meanwhile would i like to pay my balance. i said i already did as i was told. she said no, that CSR was wrong, you owe $39 more.
after going over it for 5 minutes and her blaming the miscalculation on the previous CSR (she's new"- how new?, i asked. "only been here 2 months"), i send in the extra $39.
later when i checked my acct. online, i see i have a $39 credit.
seems the first CSR was correct.
so of course i cannot get that $39 back, unless i close my acct., but it will be applied to the bill when i resume, some time in the fall. nice work, you dumb f---s.
