As you all can probably tell I am new to the Tivo Community forums. However Ive been lurking around for a few months.

One thing that I have noticed about this forum is that everyone is here for the same reason. To get the most possible out of their Tivo!

I personally have just started hacking my DTivo and started with The Zipper. But something I have found is that everything on this forum while not necessarily a disarray can be difficult to follow.

Something that I would like to do to contribute here is Create this thread (or perhaps another similar once I have all information compiled) With Everything needed to hack a DTivo from soup to nuts. What all of the hacks out there are how to install them and how to use them. (And most importantly giving Credit where Credit is due)

I think compiling such a thread would help eliminate some of the repetitive questions which are asked on a daily basis.

I would appreciate some feed back from the members here. Unfortunately I am not a programmer so writing hacks is out of the question. However I would like to contribute here and I felt that this was a way I would be able to do so.

Thanks

I applaud your interest in helping, but I really don't think a forum is the best place to try to compile such info. (for obvious reasons)

Might I suggest a wiki? (you could easily add a section to mine... listed in my sig)

I agree that the forum might be a difficult place to compile such information. And I would love to use a Wiki. (Most likely this will be the route I will take)

Now comes the most difficult part. Compiling all of the information.

While I know all the information is not just going to appear on my computer screen. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where to begin.

If the info was easy to find, then what you're proposing wouldn't be useful, would it?

Much of the info can be found here, on DDB, and in the scripts/programs that are floating around, but some info is inaccurate/outdated, so you really have set yourself quite a task.

Best of Luck!

p.s. If you have any questions, etc. I can often be reached on chat or on #tivoserver on irc.freenode.org

I do actually have one question currently!

I Upgraded my Dtivo HD the other night W/ instantcake and Zipper. This worked out great My tivo is up and running and connected to my network.

Zipper installs Enhance features such as Tivowebplus Ver. 1.3.0

How do I go about upgrading from 1.3.0 - 2.0 Ive read your wiki but still am a little stumped

well... you can try the update module... make sure to set r/w, then reset to r/o before running twp2
