View Full Version : Terrestrial Lineup

Hello there,

I'm new to Tivo - I only got my box yesterday and I've been up late playing with it. So far I'm impressed. While I'm testing it out, I'm only using the terrestrial channels (1-5). I have two questions:

1) If I later want to add in my Freeview box to the equation, do I need to go through the whole guided setup again?

2) Can I re-order my channel lineup? The current order is something like BBC2, ITV, CH1, CH4, CH5. It looks like it's going according to the channel number (i.e. Ch40 = ITV-Granada), etc. I'd like to have the traditional BBC1, BBC2, ITV, C4, 5 if that's possible.

I've had a look on the forum but haven't seen how to rectify this (or if it's possible) - apologies if it's already been covered - could be that I've been searching for the wrong terms.

Hoping someone can help.

Cheers,
Matt

2) Nope - They are fixed in the order of the UHF channels they are broadcast on

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum :)

Yes you can add Freeview, and this is highly recommended as you will get more channels and better picture quality. You will need to re-do Guided Setup, but it will be much quicker than the first time as most of the guide data will already be in place, and any Season Passes etc. you have set up will be transferred to the new Freeview versions of the channels where appropriate.

No, you can't re-order the channels, but if you get Freeview, the order is more intuitive anyway. However, once you get used to watching nothing but recordings, it doesn't matter what channel it was on... ;):)

Thanks, guys.

I guess I'll just have to go at it from Freeview, as they're all in a logical order. I know I can still access the analogue channels (in case my Freeview box isn't turned on) but another one of the reasons I wanted to do this independent of the Freeview box is that the IR Blaster seems to have problems beyong channel 9. I've got a Hauppauge DEC2000 (DEC2000T) and even with the real remote, channel changing isn't the best. One suggestion said turn the Hauppauge channel bar off, but there's no option for that within the Freeview box.

Cheers,
Matt

For less than £35 you can get a freeview box that works perfectly with Tivo. http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-8452.aspx
Shop around and you may get cheaper.

You can always keep your existing box for Live TV   if you don't want to watch Tivo
