My PC (XP), running the Tivo Desktop software, no longer appears in the Now Playing list. It previously worked flawlessly, and I miss transferring home movies on to the Tivo. My PC is running version 2.4a (I re-installed it, from 2.3), and the services are running. The Tivo services are allowed in my firewall, but I turned it off (the firewall) just to be sure. I've reset my wireless router and my cable modem.

The Tivo is connected to the wireless network. I can access the live365 stations, it updates, *and* I can download videos from the Tivo to my computer! So I can see it, it just can't see me. I tried adding my PC manually, but it says no server is found on that address. Could you please offer some suggestions, or troubleshooting steps to take? Thanks so much,
Kim

It sounds like a firewall issue. Make sure you have all the ports (http://customersupport.tivo.com/LaunchContent.aspx?CID=127D5F60-EF84-4790-85AC-8FC6D408B5A7) open that TiVo Desktop requires.

If you temporarily disable your firewall, can you see your PC in the NPL?

I have disabled the windows firewall and i am not running any other software firewall. I have opened up every port that i am aware of to open in the router and still nothing. I cant even see the my pictures and music folders anymore. WHen in tivo desktop i can transfer from the tivo to pc just not vice versa.

If you were previously limiting which Tivo's could see your PC, check those settings in the Desktop options. Something got botched up in 2.4a, I had to set it back to allowing all Tivos. Server / TiVo Server Properties / Access Control / Automatic. If you try Custom, you'll find you can't check any of the boxes. If you previously had Custom and one or more TiVos checked, they are blank now.

I have no idea what happened but i formatted my pc and started over and now everything is working again. I did this because Amazon unbox wasnt working and now it is. I think it was something running in the startup more than a firewall issue.
