I cant make my daily call, any ideas?

Unfortunatly my TIVO keeps coming up saying no one is answering I hae done all the good things, changed leads etc etc but to no avail. Is there any way to check the modem?

If the modem is broken can I buy a new one for the UK TIVO? Or is there any other solution ie an external modem and what would the UK settings be?

Best thing, which alot of us have done is to setup the daily call so that it goes via your broadband network.
You will need a cachechard with an ethernet port - http://www.9thtee.com/tivocachecard.htm,

It looks more complicated than it actually is.

Other than that, have you run a test call to see what happens?
Finally, as far as I know you can't replace the tivo modem. (I'm sure someone will correct me on that though!)

No you can't replace the internal modem I'm afraid.

If you don't fancy installing a cachecard yourself then you could buy a pre-configured drive with cachecard drivers already installed.

But then he would need to copy his existing programs etc from his current drive over to the new one... Which is more hassle than just installing the cachecard drivers in the first place.

Not to mention the extra cost involved.

:)I see you are playing Devil's advocate today Chris :)

Of course it's cheaper and better to do a DIY install of the cachecard drivers if you don't mind messing around with a TiVo drive in your PC. However, not everybody does enjoy that sort of thing so the option of a plug-n-play alternative is very welcome to many.
