I have had a S3 since December, currently on 8.3. I'm having Audio & Video sync problems on NBC-HD, but I haven't noticed any other channels affected. When I watched golf yesterday, I could hear the swing of the club almost a full second prior the the video showing the action. I'd simply adjust my receiver's audio delay but that would mess up every other channel (which aren't having this problem).

Are there settings inside of TiVo that I can adjust to fix this? It's been going on for a few weeks now and is getting REALLY old!

Thanks.

I've had intermittent audio/video sync problems on NBC-HD for the last several weeks. It's very annoying. I think it's a network broadcast (not TiVo) problem, as I get the same thing if I tune the over-the-air NBC-HD channel. (I have an antenna connected to the S3.) I also have my TV connected directly to the cable, but can't remember if I've checked the NBC-HD QAM channel (thus bypassing the S3). I'll try to do this next time the sync problems crop up.

I am also having this problem in Middle Tennessee. HOWEVER, when I watch the same channel with my CableCard equipped TV, the sound is in sync. With the Tivo, it is WAY out of sync.

The local broadcasts on the NBC channel have the same issue.

SO ANNOYING!

This evening, watching the Tonight Show using the S3, I was again having audio/video sync problems. I switched to watching the QAM NBC-HD channel on my TV, which bypasses the S3. The A/V sync problems were definitely less. So this problem may be affected by the S3.

Edit: On closer inspection, the A/V sync problem happens on the QAM channel, too.

Well, all responses have been from TN (Martin, TN here) and likely the same NBC station (via Nashville). I wonder if this is affecting anyone outside of this viewing area or if it is WTVF's problem.

I got home too late tonight but I wonder if it affects the local news in the same way or if it is strictly via the national feeds...

I verified tonight that local news broadcast is in sync but network feed is out of sync. Local commercials are in sync as well. ALSO it IS out of sync on my cable card equipped TV and I am getting the signal hiccups with pixelation on the TV as well. So it is not the S3 causing either problem. I am on Charter in Cookeville getting the Nashville feed.

I've got Charter here too. I'm guessing that Hearncl is on Comcast though. I wonder, since the only complaints with NBC-HD seem to be with the same station (WTVF) AND they show signs of pairing well when broadcasting the local news, IF they are ding something there in Nashville to uncouple audio & video. Otherwise, where are the other complaints that aren't local?

You mean WSMV right?

I am going to send a complaint to "technical" here:

Could you do the same?

whoops! yep, WSMV. WTVF is the CBS, sorry.

I will also send a complaint. I'm curious to see what they have to say!

So far no reply.
If their engineers work anything like our network operations center, it will just start working and they did not fix anything... 8)

Still no reply and still out of sync.

Charter just added Fox Nashville to the HD Tier here in Cookeville. I am experiencing sound drops on it ONLY on S3. CC Television has no issue with the channel.

That's really strange. I get FOX-HD out of Memphis, no problems at all.

anyway i've just started having problems with this too on my series 2 (about a 1 second lag) on different channels on occasional recordings.

Hmm found this thread by searching; didn't notice it's in the s3 forum.

NBC-HD out of Nashville seems to be fixed! Is it fixed for you guys too?

Although this is the S3 thread, I just want to point out to S2 users that your digital cable box might be causing some A/V sync issues - my Scientific Atlanta box, on rare occasions, has caused a 1 to 2 second delay. (Changing the channel directly on the cable box fixed the problem with live TV, so I don't think the problem was with my TiVo.) I've only noticed the problem once when watching live TV; the other times it was with existing recordings, so I couldn't test out the source of the delay.

Maybe the same thing that caused the cable box to glitch might also be causing some cablecards to glitch?

YES!! I just wish we would have complained about it sooner.

Fox cleared up for me as well so I am a happy person..
