View Full Version : Unboxed order missing... Who to contact for help ?

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased Blood Diamond for $5 during the movie sale.

I've yet to receive the movie.

Who do I contact for help? Amazon's regular customer service is unhelpful.

When Unbox was first announced, I ordered 2 movies and they never downloaded and they never downloaded and they never downloaded.

Turned out that if your TiVo is set to record a lot of programming in the (i think) 48 hours after it tries to download, TiVo will reject it. (I just assumed it woulld delete stuff in the now playing list to make room.)

I cleared a bunch of stuff from my To Do list and then hit the download button again on Amazon and both movies were there an hour later.

I recently had 3 movies I rented not come down. What ya need to do is in the e-mail they sent me.. I ended up having to reboot my router and then re-request the downloads.

Here is their troubleshooting e-mail:

I apologize for the difficulty you have had in downloading Unbox
content to your TiVo. It appears that we were unable to send your
videos through due to connection issues. I have made these titles
available for download again.

ENABLE DOWNLOADS ON YOUR TIVO
Your TiVo settings may prevent you from receiving downloads. To
check these settings, visit the TiVo Manage My Account page
(http://www.tivo.com/manage ), select "DVR Preferences" and make
sure "Enable Video Downloads" is selected.

While most changes will register on Amazon.com and TiVo shortly
after you make them, in rare cases it may take up to 24 hours before
your TiVo DVR will show as available in your Amazon Unbox account.

Additionally, if you have made any changes to your TiVo or account
at TiVo.com, you may need to re-register on our website for those
changes to reflect.

You might also try the following steps:
1. Go to TiVo Central
2. Go to Programs list
3. Select To Do List
4. Go into View Recording History
5. Check to see if the video is listed in Recorded History, or if it
lists a File Not Found error.

This error message typically indicates a problem with your TiVo
DVR's connection to your home network. Often, trying one of the
network troubleshooting options below will correct the problem and
allow your Unbox video to download:

-- Reboot your router and/or modem.
-- Reset defaults on router and/or modem. Especially as regards
firewalls, DNS, and DHCP.
-- Hotplug the wireless adapter on back of TiVo DVR, if applicable.
-- Restart the DVR (press the TiVo button on the remote to go to
TiVo Central, select Messages & Settings; then Restart or Reset
System; then Restart the DVR. Press THUMBS DOWN three times and
press ENTER).

If you have tried the above steps, you should then be able to push
the download of each of these titles through Your Media Library on
our website. I have included instructions for this below.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD A VIDEO I ALREADY PURCHASED?
If you completed your purchase but could not download the video
immediately due to technical problems, you can initiate a new
download from Your Media Library on Amazon.com after you've
corrected any issues with registration, your TiVo settings, or your
home network. Here's how to start your download:

1) Visit Your Media Library at http://www.amazon.com/gp/library/
2) Locate the video you purchased in the Downloads tab
3) Choose the "TiVo Friendly Name" for your DVR from the RemoteLoad
pull-down menu.
4) Click the "Download" button

Just contact the Amazon digital/Unbox support team.

Amazon has a specially trained group of CSA's to support the Unbox downloads. Not all Amazon CSA's are trained, your actually lucky to get a CSA that even is aware of what your talking about.

So, ask to be transferred to the Unbox team.

I'm having similar problems. I switched from an S2 to an S3 (just changed the TSN in TC) and the tivo name is the same. I'm suspecting that this has something to do with it since the S3 doesn't even attempt to download it (isn't in rec. history). I've emailed Amazon 3 times and called Tivo, but keep running into people who have no idea how to help me. out...

Is there any way to "unlink" and "relink" my tivo? Or anyone at Tivo who actually understands something about Unbox?

If you go to amazon.com/unbox, there should be a link to "Unbox on TiVo" across the top in blue (you may have to be logged in first). Clicking that takes you to a page with your known TiVos and options like "refresh your list of TiVos" and "unlink your Tivo account".

I'm not sure what TiVo database it uses. One of my TiVos is misnamed: Amazon calls it "DVR####" (with the TSN numbers), while TiVo.com has it correctly as "Frank". It's a replacement TiVo, which TiVo correctly handled, but Amazon has not, so far.

Amazon told me the same thing. But I don't get those options. In my "unbox on tivo" page all I see is a "register" button.

I've tried in several browsers, but Amazon doesn't see my Tivo, and won't let me register it again since it says I am already registered.

This is really frustrating...
