Since I will be Tivoless for several more days (you don't want to know), I was wondering if it will screw up my S3 CC if I put one directly into my TV?
I on have 2-99 now and no HD-it's killing me.
Thanks

It won't screw up your cablecards, but neither will they work in a device they're not "married" to.
You could call the cable company and give them the new host ID numbers, and they can rematch your card if they know what they're doing. You'll have to do the same thing again when you replace the card into the S3.

Hmm, aren't they married to something at the head end and not the TV end?

Depends on the cable company, but the cards are usually paired to the device, so if you put it in your TV it will need to be paired to work. Usually a call to the cable company to accomplish this. Then when you get your TiVo back, you will need to call them to change it to pair with the TiVo.
If you are lucky it will work without calling, but it should not "hurt" the cableCard to insert it in the TV to see if it works.

I see.
I have a CableCard in my TV, but no Series 3 TiVo yet.

Worked like a charm :)
Just as was the case with the S3. It only needs to be paired for 1 channel TNTHD, and I can live without it.
Beautiful HD is transmitting once again.
