What the heck?!
My Tivo updated to 8.3 two weeks ago and I just got a service update. At 2am in the middle of a show it rebooted and started installing the update. I'm waiting for it to finish to see what version I have.

I now have 8.3.1-01-2-648.
I had 8.3.1 already. This is strange. They pushed the updated twice? Hopefully it makes my pixelation issues go away.

If you check around, you would see that this also happened to others. What happened was that you had 8.3.1L or something like that and now everyone should have 8.3.1

What happened was that you had 8.3.1L or something like that and now everyone should have 8.3.1The way it generally works is: Some people get what TiVo hopes to be the production release, and if everything goes smoothly, the version tag is changed in the download to indicate production release. Then everyone, including the people who got the early release, get the "production" release, which is identical to the earlier release except for the version tag.

I skimmed through the 8.3 update thread but didn't see the 2 versions.

Thank you for the explanation.

I also got the second 8.3 release. I must have gotten an early release also.

I have been out of the country for 3 weeks and am now in Miami waiting for my connecting flight. I had not gotten 8.3 when I left. I am anxious to get home to see what my S3 has.
