There has got to be a better way!

I just missed the end of two of my favorite shows because of weather delays coming on during commercials. Also CSI had a 2 hour episode and I didn't know that and even though I have a season pass it only taped the first hour because the 2nd hour was the same title. So I'm left not knowing what happened to Sara. I also missed who won American Idol on their 2 hour special even though it recorded it but we had some weather come on during commercials which delayed it. There has got to be a way for Tivo to deal with these two issues. I know on live shows that I can extend, but what about a 2 hour show that is called the same thing and you have it set to record first run only so that it doesn't tivo all the shows in syndication on cable!

CSI, CBS and/or the station could have made it one episode, or two separate program IDs. Simply a guide data problem from the source. Checking might have caught that.

For the weather interruption, TiVo has no way to know they are happening, or when they will be over, or what the channel's/netowrks course of action will be.
