Issue burning medium quality recording to DVD

I have previously had success burning recordings to DVD, but they have all been High and Best. Currently I am trying to burn a Medium quality and am experiencing that it will not play on my DVD player after I try to start it from the menu. On Windows Media Player it will try to start but keeps stopping and if I can somehow get it playing the audio is out of sync.

I have tried using DirectShowDump with NeroVision Express 2 as well as Videora, DVDStyler & DVDDecrypter, all with similar results. The mpegs created play fine through Windows Media Player.

Has anyone else experienced this issue when buring Medium quality recordings, or could it be something else altogether?

I have a standalone DVD recorder, and have found that if I burn them in LP mode some DVD players don't like it.
SP or EP works great.

Possible a related problem?
