Voices soft on Tivo3, music loud

Hi, I am a long time Tivo user, have 4 in my house right now. I had had the same audio problem as others with my Series3 HD Tivo as far as getting no audio at times. My new problem though is this....the voices on recored programs are very soft, hard to hear....the music seems to be very loud. Anyone else having trouble hearing voices??

That's often a sign of a receiver being set up improperly, or a speaker being disconnected. If the receiver thinks you have a center speaker, dialog will primarily be sent there, which causes problems if it doesn't exist!

I had same problem with the audio level and gave up on digital audio and went with analog audio for normal TV watching and got the Terk VR-1 volume regulator. This is an amazing little device that I have been very happy with. You can get on eBay or online stores like Crutchfield.

Just adding to my previous post: After you've checked the receiver is set up correctly, and all speakers are connected, then check that your TV is setup correctly as well. I know my TV has a setting where the TV speakers are to be used as the center speaker (for dialog), and strange things may happen if the TV sound is off or low.

Does the S3 output DD5.1 audio? If so then it could be a channel problem. The networks can't quite get the center channel to work properly.
