I have a Tivo Series 2 and have been using Videora and it has worked great. I have done nothing to my pc which has the tivo server installed and all of the sudden my tivo does not show anything on the server. I cannot even see the music and pictures folder. So... i upgraded to Tivo Plus 2.4 and still no luck. I even disabled the windows firewall and still nothing. I have never had to open any ports in my router or firewall but if someone could help that would be great.

What is the IP address of the TiVo and PC one of them could of changed. If you are wireless either the PC or TiVo may of been hijacked by a neighbor's router.

i can transfer stuff from the tivo to the pc just not vice versa. I can goto the ip address of the tivo in a web brower and it shows up.

Can I assume your are running XP?

In window's Task Manager I show 4 processes running for TiVo desktop.
TiVoBeacon.exe -- System
TiVoNotify.exe -- User
TiVoServer.exe -- User
TiVoTransfer.exe -- User

Have you tried "Manually add a Server" from the Music Photos & More?

Yes, i have done all those things. I just uninstalled tivo desktop, rebooted and reinstalled and now everything is working properly. Very weird, but the issue started the moment i upgraded to tivo 8.3. But thanks for the help.

Glad you got it working. This networking stuff sometimes is just magic.

Tell me about it, I'm a Network Engineer and Tivo seems to give me the hardest trouble of anything i do work related.

Are you wired or wireless?
Check the IP addresses of the PC and TiVo.

PC can see the TiVo however the TiVo cannot see PC. Must be fire-wall issue on your PC or all of TiVo desktop is not running Change/Check TiVo Desk Top settings "Server" -> "TiVo Server Properties" -> "Access Control".

Start at the top of this thread with the re-boots.

After formatting my issue is fixed. I was able to goto the ip address of the tivo in a webpage. I could always ping the tivo. Desktop could transfer shows from tivo to pc just not vice versa.
