I have had a series 2 single tuner for a # of years now and the hardrive has gone bads recently. I went out and got a sereis 2 dual tuner TIVO. Tried to hook it up to the TV (cable ready, comcast cable in maryland, no wireless) and got the blue screen when it searched for the signal during set-up. Thought maybe the signal was too weak for the dual tuner so I got a Motorola Signal Booster broadband drop amp plugged it in line, but no better. I know the cable is working because when I plug the old box in it is ok. Help!!!

Box or no box? How many splits in the cable line do you have before the TiVo?

No box. Straight out of the wall and into the TIVO box. Thanks.

So if you connect your Cable TV coax directly to the TV you get all of the channels, right? Is the picture snowy or ghosty, suggesting weak cable signal?

If your Series 2 DT Tivo cannot lock onto the cable signal, then it's either too weak, or the Tivo is defective.

No the signal thru the TV is fine, guess the TIVO is defective. thanks
