Hello all. I just received my first tivo and I have run inot a problem. I came home and the tivo was recording two programs at once. So far, so good. I turned on the television and started watching the tail end of one of the programs. I accidentally changed the channel and it stopped recording that show AND did not show that it recorded anything up to that point. As if I interrupted the recording so it abandoned the whole process. The other show recorded fine. Is this what happens if you change the channel when it is recording two shows? It keeps recording the one with the highest priority? Much thanks for any help.

It was probably recording a "Suggestion", and not something that you had specifically requested. Those are thrown away if interrupted (and the TiVo doesn't ask you), since they are just shows the TiVo guesses you may like. An interrupted requested recording (eg via Season Pass) will ask you if you really want to do that, and will save the recording so far as a partial recording.

No. Priority has nothing to do with it. The recording being made on the tuner you changed channel on will be stopped and the other tuner will continue recording normally.

It was a season pass recording. I just wish it would have saved up until the point I changed the channel. When I changed the channel it stopped recording that channel and did not show the recording up until that point in "Now Playing"

Are you sure it was being recorded as a SP?
What does "Recording History" say (first line of TODO List)?
