View Full Version : TiVo Delete a Channel that I still get...

TiVo sent me a message informing me that it had delete FX, I immediately check and sure enough FX is completely missing from the TiVo line-up (I can't even go into the channel settings to add it back).

I can access the FX network physically if I go up to my box and channel up or down but TiVo refuses to acknowledge its existence.

What can I do to remedy this?

I would notify Tivo by using the lineup report page here:

Set up a manual recording on that channel, punching the channel number in by your remote.

Then, go to your list of "channels I receive" in your TiVo menus.

The channel should now appear, but without a checkmark.

Check it.

From this point on, the only thing you'll be missing is guide data and the channel being in the grid.

You'll be able to view the channel and record it.

Others have reported this exact same problem with FX (on DirecTV?), and this is what they're doing for now.

In the meantime, they're also notifying TiVo of the problem.

It happens sometimes. Wrong information is given out, or the timing is wrong, whatever.

Tell them about it, and they'll fix it as soon as they can.

Have you tried to re-run guided setup. It's possible that the lineup you selected years ago has changed. You might want to re-run the guided setup to find out if FX is located in the other package.

We have 6 TiVo's and my wifes TiVo had several missing networks. She's not the most tech savvy person when it comes to electronics so she never said anything to me. I went upstairs and sat on the couch to watch some TV with her and couldn't believe that several channels were missing and some were in different locations.

I live in an area that is a little funky. My cable provider is Time Warner Newburgh (Orange County), but another person only several miles away from me that really does live in Ulster County (same Zipcode) would have Time Warner in Wurtsboro.

Re-running guided setup allowed me to have TiVo test the channels out to find the correct lineup. After it asks you some basic questions about Zipcode and cable box it'll ask a series of questions and turn to the channel in question.

In my area Fox could be on 54 or 62. TiVo is smart enough to realize this now and come right out and ask you something along the lines of "do you receive FoxNews on channel 54?" at the same time you'll see the background on channel 54 to help you decide.

You won't loose any of your programs that are recorded. You'll loose about 20+ minutes of your time and if it works you're good to go. If not you've only lost 20+ minutes.

The channel has been deleted from its channel slot by TiVo where the "channels I receive" are concerned, but as mentioned, it's still actually there on that channel number.

People who follow the above described method have been able to receive and record the channel again.

Did you read the method described above on handling this?

It's also mentioned in this thread, link provided above by Jim.
