View Full Version : Guided setup unable to complete

OK So I have the same setup for almost a year, everythin worked fine. And 2 days ago, Tivo just told me that it couldn't find my basic cable anymore. I just checked everything and yes my time warner cable box works perfectly well. So I reset both the Tivo and the cable box and still the same issue. Basically Tivo won't recognize channel starting at 100 (and couldn't change it directly on the cable box as it used to do).
So I tried to redo the guided setup all over again. Except that everytime it arrives at some point, it gives me a Please wait sign and freeze forever... I tried to unplugged the Tivo to redo it again but everytime, same problem... So now I can't even use this stupid piece of Tivo... Which is unbelievably great since it's just the season finales every night this week! So I don't know what they did, but once again: Tivo, thank you very much!

If anybody has any idea what I should do?? Maybe call these *&*&$#* to send em their piece of crap called Tivo back...

I feel your pain. If you don't mind relaxing a bit maybe you could tell us some basic information first.

Cable box make and model? Location of service? Do you have the TiVo hooked up with IR blasters or is it serial port? What series and model of TiVo do you have? Have you installed a bigger drive?

No detail is too small...
