I am having trouble setting up my DVD-Recorder and my Tivo. The DVD is connected to the TV via HDMI cable. I have tried many connections but I get nothing when trying to record from Tivo. I assumed all I would have to do is connect Audio/Video cables from Tivo to DVD. It does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

What type of A/V cables are you using (yellow video, or s-video)?

Are you setting the DVD recorder to its "video" input (or whatever setting is required to display what's coming in from the A/V inputs)?

Oh...

And are you getting anything ELSE from the DVD recorder? If you try to play a DVD, what happens?

(And...stupid question....are you sure you're using the TiVo's video and audio OUTPUTS, and didn't accidentally use input jacks?)

I am using yellow/red/white calble. This cable is connected to the output on Tivo and Input on DVD. I called Tivo support. I had the cable one end of the cable connected to my TV. I couldnt get any picture or sound. I reconnected the cable back to the TV and I get Tivo very well but cannot record. Remember I am using HDMI cable from DVD to TV. The other cables yellow/red/white is connect to television and is connected to #1output on Tivo.

Try this.
DVD to TV using HDMI.
One set of yellow/red/white connections from TiVo to DVD recorder.
Another set of yellow/red/white connections from TiVo to TV.

To record the TiVo on the DVD recorder you have to select the proper inputs on the DVD recorder.

Depending on what you want to watch, you select the correct TV input.
