It would actually have been fun if they'd done a summer series of Veronica interning at the FBI.

Oh well.

Nice expansion of Dick's character when his pent-up feelings about Cassidy burst out of him as he was talking to his dad.

Has Veronica ever used a ridiculous looking pen before on this show? I really don't recall having seen one. If so, OK. But if not, to the writers.

I just think it is interesting that the one time Veronica isn't the cynical one it turns out that her client wasn't using her for selfish reasons.

(And I also wonder if the disinformation plan was targeted specifically at Veronica, in which case it was pretty fast work. Or if it was a more general plan aimed to dissuade any potential goldseekers)

The title of this thread doesn't mention spoilers, so if you haven't watched yet, don't read any further I guess...

I enjoyed last nights episode. Though parts left me with a sour note. I felt that Logan's invitation to Parker was forced and he just felt the need to show he was different, but it didn't seem like what he wanted to do.

And I was glad to see Dick stand up to his dad. They finally showed an emotional side of him. And Ryan Hansen played it well.

Personally...Veronica and Piz frustrate me. Though I was glad to see that Veronica didn't take Piz's bait in the internship conversations. It was good to see her level head prevail when she told him to take whichever internship would help him the most in the future.

Overall good episode. Though the scenes for next weeks episode put me on edge! And I'm still crossing every single appendage I have hoping for a 4th season!

It doesn't need to explicitly indicate spoilers in the thread title. It's inherently a spoiler thread because it identifies a specific episode; mentioning anything that occurs in or before the episode doesn't require spoiler tags.

This was really a yawner ep for me. Other than the fact that Veronica got played in the end, it was totally boring.

It's so obvious to everyone but Piz that the Pizonica thing isn't going to work out. He's just so heartsick it's pathetic.

And I hate when TV shows do "cause" epsodes. It's just so transparent and makes me care LESS about the cause, because I have a negative feeling about it.

Thanks for letting me know! I'm still fairly new to the boards, so I wasn't really sure.

I understand where you are coming from on this, but IMO I think they did a good job of bringing attention to the cause without shoving it down your throat.

Unfortunately there was another level to this. It was obvious immediately that piz was considering the radio internship because he wanted to stay close to veronica over the summer. Veronica should have caught on to this but didn't. She basically did the same thing as logan and did not think about them being apart over the summer.

<nitpick>
the Pitchfork offices are in Chicago, not NY
</nitpick>

But, that would have negated the discussion next week after Piz takes the Pitchfork internship so he can be a trainride away from V.

I thought this was well done; Veronica is quite often completely clueless about this sort of thing. I guess being a cynical P.I. doesn't allow her to be very empathetic. I find that this part of her character gives her more intriguing depth than your typical P.I. show.

I don't think she saw what was going on and avoided it; I think she completely did not understand what Piz was oh so obviously hinting at, because Piz just doesn't mean that much to her (like Parker doesn't mean that much to Logan). And, I think Piz absolutely saw it as well.

I know I'm the only one on this board that thinks so, but overall I feel this has been the strongest VM season yet...It might not have reached the heights the 1st season hit, but there were a lot less "huh" moments than either of the previous seasons for me. So I'm probably going to be even sadder than the rest of you if its gone.
Dick, we hardly knew you...I've always felt there was more to this seeming jerk than we've been shown. And even at his worst he's always been honest and upfront about his lack of class. It was nice to see the actor playing him had the chops to do scenes that were more than just comic relief-gonna miss you big fella...

I agree that this season has been very strong. Though it lacks a certain something that season 1 had, I still enjoy it, and if this was the first season I would still be just as hooked.

This season has had a lot of character development in all sorts of directions, it was a breath of fresh air to see a different side of Dick

Remember way back when this season when dick showed up at logan's door really upset and said he did something bad? I have completely forgotten what that was about. Someone remember?

I think it's targeted at Veronica. That's why initially he wouldn't talk to her, but then after they'd worked out their plan the girlfriend said she thought he was now ready to talk. They had the details ironed out and it was time to put it in motion.

Calling the movie producers was a particularly nice touch. I'm impressed they thought enough of Veronica to make it a phone call to the right number!

Yep, poor Piz kept getting smacked in the face by that every time he brought up either internship. From the first time he mentioned NYC you could see him waiting for her to point out the distance, or at least show SOMEthing other than unbridled enthusiasm.

Well I was thinking when they were talking about the internship at the FBI for V, and his job in NYC, that he was thinking that that's just a 5 hour train ride away.

If anybody is wanting to find out more about the main subject of the show, check out A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Solder (http://www.amazon.com/Long-Way-Gone-Memoirs-Soldier/dp/0374105235/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-0656162-9127816?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1179463409&sr=8-1) by Ishmael Baeh. The book and character in this week's episode were very obviously based on this book and its author. It's getting a ton of press, and the reviews are really good. I've been meaning to pick it up for a while.

Apparently, it was the Piz actor reading that book that led to this episode happening in the first place...

Probably right about it being targeted specifically at Veronica.

Actually, since the only way Veronica checked the number was to redial, all we know is that he called someone who answered the phone with the name of the movie studio. It could have been a friend primed to answer like a receptionist.
(Probably not, but it could have been.)

I didn't really like this episode.

I feel like they kept opening too many doors, and now that it's gonna be canceled... I feel like it was a slap in the face.

Piz and Veronica? YUCK!

Parker and Logan? YUCK!

Dick's dad coming back? WTH? Why now?

Vinnie running for sheriff/ something to do with Kendall and the Fitzpatricks? Why now? So late in the game?

*sigh*

Maybe if they do a movie... and tie up some of these loose ends.

And get Logan and Veronica back together.

And where was Leo? What was the point in him last week?
