Has anyone caught this show (http://tlc.discovery.com/guides/property/the-real-deal/the-real-deal.html)? It was originally called "Flip This House" and was aired on Discovery Channel. They since have moved to TALC with the new show name "The Real Deal". The interaction between the Trademark Team is really want makes the show. Richard Davis is a funny cat. I've followed them for a few years now and LOVE the show.

The Team is comprised of:

Richard Davis - spitfire RE hotshot. It's just a southern boy born and raised in SC. Cocky attitude fast talking negotiator and a good business man.

Ginger - Richard's right-hand. She is his protege and she handles all the investment decisions/budgets for the new real estate. Young. Smart. No nonsense approach.

John Davis - the Cooky older brother. Comes off as a poor negotiator and not in charge. It's almost as though Richard hired him on to help support him.

Lori - Sales Agent

Dawn - Project Coordinator who is in and out of episodes. Has a new family and is a no nonsense kind of woman. She is definitely the glue that sticks all these people together. She, over the years, has been given increasingly more responsiblity.

I've never seen a flop on a house. They are always profitable and it's amazing to watch. Richard's favorite line is: "Winner Winner, chicken Dinner"

If you haven't seen it, check it out! Saturdays at 9PM.

Yup, I posted a thread about it a while ago:

Not sure if it's as good as the first season of Flip This House... the one with the condo conversion project was interesting in that it highlighted another part of Trademark's business, but it wasn't as good as some of the home remodeling projects they've done. I've got a season pass for the show though.

Yeah, I did like the condo conversion ep but I think each episode shows a different side of the trademark team. Now with the new introduction to Dan Tollen, who normally works sales/condos, is now working with Richard and Ginger on flipping houses. It just shows the team is really versatile.

I am definitely glad to see the show back airing. I actually prefer this format and setup from the setup A&E used.

Thanks for the heads up about The Real Deal. I loved Richard and his folks, and really intensely disliked all the new people on Flip This House. I'll get my SP in place immediately.

That's why this forum is my "first to read" every morning.

This showed up on my cable DVR as "The Property King". Now I can't get that title out of my head - imagining him as The Plow King.

I find the show kind of boring. I liked the "Flip This House" format much better. From the response they got, I think pretty much anyone could have sold all those condo-conversions.

How has the formatting changed from "Flip This House". I mean, besides some graphic changes and what appears to be more money for production from TLC?

If anything, I think the TLC version is 10x better.

It seems like this is more focused on his business overall than just flipping individual houses. Maybe it's not. Before, it was find the house, flip the house, sell the house.

Now, it seems like they skip a lot of those elements. I also liked it more when Richard was more active in the flips.

I still watch it, just don't think it's as good as before...

Is this the one I saw where Richard and his contractor guy were sitting in a pick-up truck at night, drinking beer, armed with shotguns, and staking out a property? Cause that was gold.

EDIT: n/m.. I guess that was a FTH episode. Cracked me up, though.

Yep, it was Flip This House and that was a classic episode! That will never be duplicated for sure... that GC isn't on the show anymore--only season 1 and he was hilarious, too.

According to wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flip_This_House#Season_One_regular_cast) , I guess it was Kevin Molony?

btw LoadStar, you'll be happy to know I played Jumpman for almost 3 hours last night. :)

Yep, Good ol' Kevin Molony. He was lifelong friends with Richard.
