There was no way that Melinda and the girls were going to stay dead, of course.

But the Big Bad is her pops? And Gabriel is her brother? Melinda's momma has some 'splaining to do!

I didn't catch that the "big bad" was her dad. I just thought she saw her dad.

I suppose you could surmise that the big bad is her father because of where she saw him. And, that since Gabriel has similar capabilities he is her brother.

But, then that would be too easy.

Time for another visit to Grams.

Yeah, the dad thing caught me a little off-guard, but the Gabriel thing made sense the second the dad said that she had a brother. I wasn't sure if she was coming back alive or if they were going to completely change the way the show works (for the brief moment I thought this was the case, it seemed like an interesting idea). I was kinda hoping that this episode would finalize this storyline so we could get back to independent episodes rather than the continuous drama it's become. Hopefully they'll still throw some of those in though.

I got that the shadowie figure was her Dad. I thought, I wonder if Gabriel is her brother, but I think that's too easy. I wonder if Daddy had a son with a different woman. I also didn't take that Daddy was an evil ghost.

Daddy was standing between her and the light, and talking about releasing the darkness within her. Doesn't sound like a nice guy to me.

Poor Melinda. Seems like the only man around her who's a stand-up guy is her husband. All the rest of them succumb to temptation or anger or evil.

If the brother is only a half-brother by the dad, it makes no sense that the brother would be gifted since it came from her mother's line. If they are setting up that her dad had the gift as well, then previous mythology about her parents' relationship gets fuzzy.

I was thinking about that! I think I can say this was a good cliffhanger. Lots and lots of unanswered questions. I can't wait for next season to start!

for some reason having a dad and brother just dont 'do it for me' as far as a end of season plot cliffhanger. With all this show has going on it just seems 'trite' to have missing/unknown family members appear

but maybe i wasn't watching close enough to get why it matters.

I wasn't aware of the fact that Malinda's dad was dead either. But if they're trying to imply that her half brother is related through her dad's side, then it does make it a bit confusing since we know the gift comes from her mom's side of the family. I guess its possible that both her parents had the gift, but that's a bit of a stretch I would think.
