Now that Directv is broadcasting channels 622 and 625 in hi-def (yankees, mets) in MPEG-4 I can't see them on my 2 HR10-250s. So i went out and purchased a HR-20 (i believe that's the model, the new HD-DVR). Works great and i get the new HD channels. But the interface is not nearly as good as the TIVO's and I was soliciting thoughts as I have to now or soon thereafter replace the rest of my receivers to upgrade to the new models or should I switch to cablevision and use a Tivo Series 3. I'm not a fan of cablevision but I'm not exciting about buying two more DVR's from Directv. In fact I was told that these are only being leased now.
Any thoughts?

Lots more information about the HR20 HD DVR, including some comparisons of the HR10-205 vs the HR20, here ....

I have both an HR20 and still use my HR10-250. I encourage you to give the HR20's user interface a few weeks. It's different, but I actually find it better than my Tivo's interface in some ways (although the Tivo is still better in some other areas).

Also, on the dbstalk forum find the "Undocumented Tips & Tricks" for the HR20. It makes it a little less unbearable. I would keep your HR10-250 in service as long as you can because the HR20 has not been stable for me at all.

Beware - you only think you "bought" this unit. You actually entered yourself into a two year commitment that takes $$ to get out of.
