SD-H400 TiVo won't stay in interlaced

With the SD-H400, I can toggle the back to make it progressive. But once I done that, I can only watch through Component. If I want TV caption, I have to use S-Video. But in order to get S-Video, I need to change it back to interlaced. The TiVo Video Setting let me change it by toggling screen size (strange). But the setting will reset back into progressive after standby. Is there a solution to keep TiVo in interlaced but DVD in progressive?

Are you using the I/P (interlaced/progressive) switch on the back of the SD-H400? Put it in standby, set the switch to I, and you should be in interlaced mode.

But then my DVD playbacks will be in interlaced every time I turn it on?

Oh, I missed that part of the post. I don't know of a way to keep progressive on one output and interlaced on another. Sorry.

The workaround is to press the "Progressive" button when switching to S-Video. Not great, but at least it does not involve unplugging a cable.
