Are you buying an HD TV set?
If you're looking for the 180 hr unit it is a series 2 and the cost for that is less then $150.00 after rebate.

The S3 tivo is $599.00 with free shipping.

Don't get the cablevision box - you will not be very happy.

Look at the username ;) It's not like it's, SinnerInThe City:D

Get an 80HR DT and do the HD upgrade yourself. For the extra $60 you would spend on the 180HR model you can slap a 250+ GB HD in that puppy.

It was joke.Yes, I got it, you didn't.What do you care ? :confused:About what you said in your first post? I really don't. I was using the play on word from your post and the OP's screen name to make a joke. If it wasn't for the OP's screen name (Saint-In-The-City) I wouldn't have replied at all.
Are you the OP's Mom ?Nope, just trying to add levity to a thread.
Re-read everything that I said. This time
I will remove the smiles and insert words
instead. Hopefully the wording will have a
better impact. Read it like a book.

Look at the username (a wink and a smile) It's not like it's, Sinner-In-The-City (Big grin from a funny/joke). Now picture me sitting there saying this out loud and making those faces. ;)
Really, nothing more was meant by this exchange. I
hope others thought it to be a little funny at least.
I really didn't mean anything more by it then that.
I'm not a professional joke teller, but I did stay at a "Holiday Inn Express" last night :D I know, I know, don't give up my day job.

Assuming you're in the process of upgrading to Hi-Def, I would say definately go with the S3.
/ assumption mode
OK, maybe, maybe not, you spent all this money on the new home entertainment system and now you're a little strapped. That's okay, take some time to save up. Tivo will wait.
Why not use cable co DVR in the mean time - it's better than nothing.
But since you know the Tivo *magic*, nothing else will compare.
