My wife has expressed interest in creating an SP on my TiVo for SouthPark with KAM=3 or 5. The problem is, I already have an SP for SouthPark that keeps all eps, but it's new release only. I've seen all the old eps. My wife has not seen the old eps and would like to record repeats. SouthPark is on quite often (probably many times per week), so it would make sense to use the KAM setting.

The problem is though, if I did one SP for the both of us, the new eps could easily get deleted by virtue of the KAM setting to make room for repeats. I don't want any new eps to be deleted until I delete it.

I told her she may have to live with my 'new release only' SP, which means she'll never see the repeats. (Once missed, they're missed forever.)

There's not a way to do two SPs are there? (My way and her way.)

Doubtful, if it could be done, all recorded episodes will still show up in the NPL. You might even have duplicates. Why not give it a try and see what happens?

Your best bet is to use separate DVRs, a HIS and a HERS.

How about a Season Pass and a Wishlist both set to pick up the same show?

Your best bet is to use separate DVRs, a HIS and a HERS.Yes, that's what I told her, but she wants to watch Southpark upstairs in the bedroom, which is where my TiVo is, and HMO is not an option because my TiVo is a series 1. Oh well, she accepts that if it can't be done, it's my TiVo, and my SP will remain as is.

But the Wishlist idea sounds like it might work though.

The wishlist option will be the best option. Just understand that repeats of South Park are now showing on stations besides Comedy Central. I'm not sure if they do any editing of the shows to satisfy the syndicates.

Good point. If they do editing, then I just thought of a manual workaround. I could temporarily change my SP to catch all eps, repeats + new release. After enough eps show up in NP, I could go into the SP manager and change it back to new releases only. This would guarantee only recording the ones on Comedy Central.

Reverse it the other way. Have the Wishlist pick up only new shows and then it will only find Comedy central. Then make the season pass do the repeats so it only pulls from Comedy Central as well.

You may also want to set your wish list to KAM=5 and KUID, so after it records 5 shows, it won't keeping recording more, until you watched and deleted some of them. Useful for shows like SouthPark where it's on all the time.

This is where I find suggestions handy. If you have suggestions on and give South Park 3 thumbs up it will record it when it can find the time and space. That way you can get a steady stream of the old eps without interfering with other SPs or wishlists.

I have alot of shows that I setup both a SP and a wishlist. Southpark is one of them. I set the SP up for new episodes only, with a higher quality recording. I then setup a wishlist for the repeats with a lower quality. This allows me to give the first run episodes a higher recording priority and the repeats further down the list so that they will record IF they do not conflict with any first run recordings.
