I'm not sure where this topic belongs. If it doesnt Mods can move it, but I need some help.

I just got a Comcast DVR. I got a 6 month deal and its the same price as our HD box. Cool. I currently have a Toshiba TiVo/DVD player downstairs next to the DVR. I decided that I was going to move our standalone DVD player (always hooked up using composite cables) from upstairs to downstairs and move the TiVo (hooked up using componet cables) upstairs so I can have a recorder on each TV.

The TV upstairs is an older tube TV so its only composite.

Now here is the problem:
I can't get the TiVo/DVD to work upstairs using composite cables and I can't get the DVD to work downstairs using component.
Why doesnt it work????
And yes are PbPrY jacks on the DVD.

Downstairs:
-TV: Phillips 47" LCD 47PF9441D (has HDMI, component, and composite)
-TiVo/DVD: Toshiba SD-H400 (has component and composite, attached using component cables, but was attached to 37" tube TV when I 1st got it using composite)

Upstairs:
-TV: Sharp 25" Tube TV 25R-S100 (has composite only)
-Standalone DVD: Toshiba SD-3980 (has component and composite, only used the composite)

Pls help. Thx.

On the back of the SD-H400 near the middle is a small switch for interlaced/progressive output. Put the SD-H400 in standby, put the switch to I (interlaced), then turn on the SD-H400. It should work.

Thanks I'll try that. Do you know why my standalone DVD player doesnt work w/ component cables downstairs?

Check page 17 of the owner's manual. It describes the setup for component and how to change output to progressive. If you don't have your manual, you can download it from
