Box Manufacturers

Who makes TiVo boxes? An outdated article said that the manufacturers were Philips, Sony and Hughes. Does anyone know if these are still their manufacturers?

TiVo branded boxes used to be made by this company. I am not sure if that is still the case;

They are technicaly manufactured by some contract manufacturer, now in China, previously in Mexico, and in San Diego early on.

Of other "brands" of Standalone TiVo(Series 2 unless otherwise noted):
Philips (Series 1 only)
Sony (Series 1 & early Series 2)
TiVo (Series 2&3)
AT&T(early Series 2)
Toshiba (DVD combos with Basic)
Pioneer (DVD combos with Basic)
Humax
Thomson ( Series 1 UK TiVo)

For DirecTV TiVos (Series 2 unless otherwise noted):
Hughes (Series 1&2)
Samsung
DirecTV
Philips (Series 1&2)
RCA
Sony (Series 1 only)

Of those, I believe only early Toshibas and Pioneers, and the Series 2 Sony were manufactured by their namesakes, all others by the TiVo contract manufacturer.
