Help playing a transfered tivo recording on a laptop

Tivo recognizes my network and connects to the tivo service. I am able to use Tivo Desktop 2.3a to transfer files to my laptop, but, I cannot play back a recording on my laptop. I get no picture, but I do get the audio. It is like windows media player cannot de-scramble the video. I am using Window Vista Home Premium on a Dell laptop.

You need a proper MPEG2codec, likely.

That's what I am thinking, but have been unsucesful in locating one.
