If you have HDTV then you won't be impressed. Save your time and money and stick with Netflix.

The size was only 480i and jittery with fast action. This was with movies: Babel and The Departed.

I took advantage of the $15 offer and I won't even watch the movies that I downloaded.

Nice concept but not a good implementation if you have HDTV. Yes, I am spoiled !

I agree. No HD sucks, but I would still use it if they get true widescreen and surround sound on the downloads.

I have to disagree. I was extremely impressed with what I downloaded from Amazon UnBox. The quality was far superior to anything recorded on TiVo at even the highest quality level, (I have HDTV but non-HD TiVo). I don't watch movies on TV much, but I'll definitely be using UnBox for any time I miss an episode of a must-see TV show. I only wish they would offer Heroes!

I have just SD but it is the dumb, stupid 24 hours to watch limit I hate. but then I have said that in all the other threads on UNBOX.

You're comparing apples to oranges. If you can't download HD to an HD TiVo, you have nothing to compare it with. I agree with the OP....UnBox sucks.

Amazon has already said they are working to add HD support. Btw, no download service is going to be superior to HD-DVD or Blu-Ray because of compression (some may come close some day). However, Amazon's service is more about the convenience. They are quite aware that hardcore movie watchers will continue to use Netflix. But they surely are going to keep trying to improve the service until someday, Unbox may be just as practical as Netflix.

But it does gets around having to buy one of either BD or HD-DVD players, and get locked into the format and limitations in contents.
