Reading/Education requested on S3

I will be ordering an S3 in the next 48 hours. Just got a Sony XBR3 and need HD. Over the last few months I have browsed in the Comcast thread since that is our Cable provider. I have read comments about cable cards not working immediately, but then after a few minutes they work. I have read references to cable card tips or hints - never saw that specifically.

What I need is a little direction about where to look, subjects to search on, etc. I really want to be up to speed since here in Atlanta the techs seem to be all over the map in terms of background and experience.

Now that I have some motivation, I will begin reading the Comcast threads - but I am interested in the big picture. Are the S3 manuals sufficiently useful that I should download and read them? (I have had DirecTV unit and currently have an S2)

The S3 comes with very straight forward instructions on how to instal Cablecards. IHMO the vast majority of people have no problem, only coming here to post if they do. I for one had no issues with my installation and it has worked without issue since then. I didn't even follow the instructions correctly choosing to install both cards at the same time :)
