Transfer Programs TiVo to TiVo

TiVo sent me a Series 3 replacement unit.

Can I transfer some of my Now Playing programs to the new TiVo before returning the old one?

You can swap the hard drives. Other than that, no.

And void both the warranty on the one he was just sent and also have to pay for the one he will be returning when TiVo get it back and sees that the box was opened.
He would also have to do a C&DE to "marry" the HD to the box, and will then lose the program anyway.

Swapping the hard drive won't work. The content on the old hard drive is tied to its original S3 unit. The older hard drive will only work in the newer unit with a "Clear and Delete Everything."
