View Full Version : Only get 720p using HDMI

I cannot get 1080i using HDMI cabe. I have went into the setup and try both hybrid 1080i and 1080i and before I had no trouble recieving 1080i thur my HDMI cable anyone else having this problem, or have any suggestions I might could do to fix this problem thanks in advance.

He probably means, what make and model HDTV are you using? Also, is the TiVo plugged directly into the HDTV or are you using a Receiver that accepts HDMI that then goes to the HDTV?

You do realize that ABC and FOX are only broadcasting 720p.
(along with ESPN HD I think, and who knows how many others via Cable)

Yes I know that Fox ABC and ESPN is 720 I am not using a cable card I am using outside anennta

regardless of how you are getting it, they still broadcast it the same 720.

You do realize that ABC and FOX are only broadcasting 720p.
(along with ESPN HD I think, and who knows how many others via Cable)

Fortunately, those are some of the last 720p holdouts (barring the whole Progressive is better for sports anyway argument - they DO use pretty darn old equipment at ABC & ESPN, nullifying THAT benefit!)
And Need2Learn - only NBC, PBS and CBS broadcast 1080i among your othr OTA possibilities.

Well, if he's using "1080i Fixed" mode it does kinda, doesn't it?
OP, I'm still unclear what the problem is. Are you not seeing any video over HDMI?
