I hate to start another thread, but...

In my journey to find out why and then fix my "HDMI Status: = Not connected" issue, I have been searching in all menus and also trying to think of what I may have done while changing some cables.

Then I thought of something and wonder if it could possibly have caused the problem. I doubt it, but I am trying to troubleshoot.

While going through different menus screens, I went into "Remote, CableCARD, & Devices" screen and it occurred to me that while I was fiddling with the wires the other day, I accidentally popped out one of the cablecards. I still have and never lost any channels.

So 2 questions:

Do you think there could be a correlation or is just a coincidence?

If I ventured into CableCARD Decoder and actually went into either of the "Configure CableCARD" menus, would I risk losing the settings and need to contact the cable company?

You know how if you go into some menus you just see the info that has already been entered like "Repeat Guided Setup" you will already see your zip code and other info.

No, you can't screw anything up in the CableCARD menus. It's informational only, AFAIK.

Do you think there is anything in the cablecard setup that could effect the use of HDMI?

On my moto cablecards, the screens are informational only. I wouldn't think the cablecards would have anything to do with an hdmi error.

What's the issue? I'd suspect a repeater, cable, or display device problem. (Or maybe a Tivo hw problem.)

The problem has been narrowed down to the Tivo & Tivo having handshake troubles, maybe.

I just got off the phone with Tivo csr level 2. We went through the usual reboot, unplug...troubleshooting steps.

Fact: The HDMI works from the DVD directly to TV and DVD through the AVR.

Fact: With that proven working HDMI cable-I am still receiving "HDMI Status: = Not connected" in System Information on the 2nd screen.

Fact: This setup work perfectly until upgrading some rca cables on Saturday.
I have tried putting the old cables back, still not connected.

Is is possible for there to be a handshake problem between the Tivo & TV (Sony KDF-E42A10 HDTV) and not between my DVD player and TV? especially when their has never been one in 6 or 7 months?
